Who we are

Find Your Tutor ("FYT", "we") provides one-to-one online tutoring for children in the UK. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights. Questions: hello@findyourtutor.co.uk.

What we collect

• Parents: name, email, and payment records (card processing is handled by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers).
• Children: first name and school year group only. We deliberately never ask for a date of birth. Older students may have a username for their own Student Zone login, created by their parent.
• Lessons: class times, attendance, tutor reports, homework, and messages sent inside the platform. Classes may be recorded (your choice per child — full, audio-only, or none; trial classes are always recorded for safeguarding and quality).

Why we use it

To deliver and schedule classes, produce progress reports, bill your prepaid wallet accurately, keep children safe (recordings and message oversight), and answer your questions. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

Recordings

Class recordings are stored securely, used for your child's reports and for safeguarding review, and deleted after around 90 days. They are never shared outside FYT.

Who we share with

Only the services needed to run FYT: secure hosting and database (Supabase), payments (Stripe), messaging delivery, and video classrooms (8x8). Each processes data under contract and only on our instructions.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, or deletion at any time from your portal or by email. When a family leaves, personal data is removed except the financial records we must keep by law, which are anonymised.
